Visitors to New York’s Times Square appeared unperturbed by dense wildfire smoke that shrouded the area on Wednesday, June 7, which caused air quality to plummet to hazardously low levels, the National Weather Service said.
By Wednesday afternoon, the New York Health Department said the air quality around the metropolitan area was “unhealthy.”
