Friends remember man who died in Placer County car crash

Friends are grieving after three 21-year-old men died in a single-car crash in Placer County over the weekend. The California Highway Patrol said a 2008 BMW was speeding on Vineyard Road just west of Cook Riolo Road near Roseville when it hit a power pole, rolled over several times and slammed into a brick gate. Officials said the three people inside the car, all described as 21-year-old men from Roseville, died at the scene. CHP said it is unknown right now if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. The names of the three victims have not been officially released yet, but friends identified one of the men to KCRA 3 as 21-year-old Lane Castro. Zach Jenkins said Castro was one of his closest friends. "He was the most genuine, nicest kid I've ever met in my whole life. Everyone will say the same thing about him," Jenkins said. "Me and him have just been inseparable, and if I'm out, I'm with him. He was my best friend. I didn't do anything without him."
