Elizabeth Warren says Trump is 'flirting with treason' by refusing to commit to peaceful transfer of power

One day after President Trump refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power if he loses the November election, Elizabeth Warren railed into him and the Republicans who are enabling his actions. Trump has repeatedly attempted to sow doubt in the mail-in voting process despite there being no evidence of large-scale fraud, and has spoken publicly about the Supreme Court, not the voters, deciding the election, a sentiment Republican senators have begun to echo. Warren believes that Trump is treading dangerously close to treason, and that Republicans are complicit, and both need to be held accountable.

ELIZABETH WARREN: When Donald Trump says that he is not necessarily going to accept the will of the voters, he's flirting with treason. He's saying, peaceful transition of power doesn't matter to him. All that matters to him, once again, is Donald Trump.

KYLIE MAR: Senator Elizabeth Warren appeared on "All In" with Chris Hayes Thursday night where she slammed President Trump for refusing to commit to a peaceful transfer of power if he looses the November elections. IN Trump is in a rush to fill the vacant Supreme Court seat and speaks openly about taking the election results to the court before a single vote has even been tallied, a sentiment echoed by Republicans in the Senate.

ELIZABETH WARREN: To enable him in that, to support him in that, and to start to talk about the November 3 election as if this isn't about voters getting their choice, but it's about Supreme Court justices getting their choice means that they are a party to it.

KYLIE MAR: Warren had especially harsh words for South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, who, in 2016, said a Supreme Court justice should never be appointed in an election year, but is now eager to vote on Trump's nominee.

ELIZABETH WARREN: Lindsey Graham has simply said, Donald Trump has my proxy on this. Senate doesn't need to look at it. If the president's good, Lindsey Graham is good. Man, there's a man with a spine, a spine kept in a box somewhere else because he certainly doesn't have to exercise for himself.

KYLIE MAR: And Warren said the only way to make sure Republicans can't push the election to the Supreme Court is with massive voter turnout.

ELIZABETH WARREN: Come November 3, we need to hold them all accountable. And when I say hold them all accountable, I mean Donald Trump. I mean, those Republican senators. I mean, those Republicans up and down the ballot. And we need to not just beat him by a little bit-- the idea that they can go litigate when it's close-- I mean, beat 'em big.
