Economic data, retail earnings, JPMorgan investor day: Next week's stories

Yahoo Finance Live anchors Seana Smith and Akiko Fujita look ahead to the economic data and earnings reports expected out next week.

AKIKO FUJITA: Well, it is closing time here at Yahoo Finance. Let's get you ready for the week ahead. First up, we are getting quite a lot of economic data next week. We get new home sales data on Tuesday. And the minutes of the May FOMC meeting on Wednesday. On Thursday, we'll get the latest revision on first quarter GDP and pending home sales. Friday, we'll get another read on inflation when the PCE Index is released. We'll also get consumer sentiment and personal income and spending data.

SEANA SMITH: Bunch of retailers will report their quarterly results next week. We will get lots of different reads in the consumer from specialty retailers like Dick's Sporting Goods, Best Buy, and Lowe's. We'll also hear from wholesale membership clubs, BJ's and Costco. Some of the other companies reporting, including Dollar Tree, Gap, and Kohl's.

AKIKO FUJITA: And finally, JPMorgan will hold its investor day on Monday. We're going to be looking to see what executives say about the recent regional banking crisis, the debt ceiling, and possible succession plans for CEO Jamie Dimon.
