This week, Alberta and British Columbia joined the list of provinces unveiling reopening plans as COVID-19 vaccination efforts continue to ramp up. The plans are similar, relying on an increasing vaccination rate and declining COVID-19 hospitalizations to allow a phased reopening that will begin by next week.

According to Speer, there is “a discrepancy in ambition” between the western provinces and Ontario when it comes to reopening the economy. He explains why that may be – and why that may harm Ontario’s vaccination effort.
