What does the Mark Ingram trade mean for fantasy?

MATT HARMON: Dalton, the Texans are trading Mark Ingram to the New Orleans Saints. Alvin Kamara, Mark Ingram reunited again. Boom, look at that.

DALTON DEL DON: You probably need to add Ingram with Tony Jones on IR in that system. And with Kamara getting worked so hard, it makes sense to want to add another back there. Man. And then Phillip Lindsay had been completely not being even seeing the field lately in Houston. So I guess now he's at least back on the radar. But nothing very exciting with David Johnson or anything. But I do think Ingram's interesting now just given the environment in New Orleans, certainly more so than-- even getting the volume in Houston, I actually find him more interesting fantasy wise as a stash on your bench right now than trying to squeeze them in your flex as Houston's feature back.

MATT HARMON: Yeah, and they needed something else. I don't think they could continue to pound Kamara with the carries that he was getting. The way they used him on Sunday night against the stupid-- or Monday night against the stupid Seahawks, oh my God. I mean, Seattle, you should be ashamed of yourself. How are you watching Alvin Kamara just take all these little flat routes, little just quick routes out of the back, and giving up all that production? Have you ever watched Alvin Kamara before? It was so-- I mean, I had the over on his receiving yards, and his total yards, and all that stuff.

So I didn't care. I wasn't frustrated about it. But just from a football perspective, I was like, that is very irritating.

DALTON DEL DON: It was like bad weather too. No one was throwing the ball down the field. No, it was horrible. Seattle has given up a ton of yards this season.

MATT HARMON: They want to play kind of a boring Gen-X, Boomer style of football. So I guess Ingram could end up getting 10 plus carries a week. I could see that happening.

DALTON DEL DON: Yeah, but for me, it's more a stash. If Kamara goes down, boom. There, you got upside. That's what I'm most interested for Ingram.

MATT HARMON: Basically how you felt about Tony Jones and he was a guy that I would have put on rosters. Yeah, it's kind of the same thing except Ingram's just a more proven player. Speaking of Saints, former New Orleans Saints, and current Houston Texans, see it all comes together. We talked about Tee Higgins as a buy low. I think Brandin Cooks is like a great buy low right now. Tyrod Taylor might come back this week. At the very worst, it sounds like he is extremely close to being back.

Brandin Cooks in weeks five through seven ranked 15th among wide receivers in percentage of team air yards, 20th in percentage of team targets, 22nd in targets per game. Now in weeks one through three, Dalton, he was first in percentage of team air yards, second and team targets, and fifth in targets per game. I mean, the usage for Brandin Cooks was amazing the first three weeks. No shock. He's had three terrible games with Davis Mills under 50 yards receiving. Of course, because it's Davis Mills.

But I think if Tyrod Taylor gets back, Brandin Cooks immediately becomes a set it and forget it wide receiver too every single week again.

DALTON DEL DON: Oh, totally agree. He's tied for first and whopper with Davante Adams. So no receiver in football has been given more of an opportunity. This year, over the first two weeks of the year, more than 200 yards, his touchdown, and Tyrod Taylor played quarters of those games. So yeah. If Taylor's back, wheels up for Cooks.
