Cub scouts place 300 flags at Mount Vernon Memorial Park in Sacramento County for Memorial Day

Thousands of people will pack Mount Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks Monday for a special ceremony to honor the men and women who died serving and protecting our country. Before the ceremony, a moving tribute was undertaken at the cemetery for Memorial Day. Cub scouts placed 300 large flags throughout the Mount Vernon grounds. Small flags were placed at the gravesites of the fallen over the weekend. It's been a 14-year tradition for the scouts to set up the flags in Sacramento County. The scouts said it's their way of honoring the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for the United States. KCRA 3's Leticia Ordaz reports.
