Crab population endangered by blue catfish

The blue catfish -- an invasive species that eats anything in its path -- is endangering the blue crab population and threatening other species native to the Chesapeake Bay. The bay's crab population is up slightly after last year's record lows, but concerns remain. Fisherman on the bay told 11 News that they started catching blue catfish about four years ago, and now they're becoming a big part of the solution. The species was introduced on the western shore of Virginia as a sport fish in the early 1970s. But there was no idea then that it would migrate elsewhere.
