Video Transcript

PETE THAMEL: Nearly one year ago this week, Alabama-LSU was the centerpiece of this sport. It was number two versus number three, and Joe Burrow officially stamped himself as the best player in college football by torching the Tide in Tuscaloosa.

2020 brings different things, as we've learned, and this week's big news is that the LSU-Alabama game scheduled for this weekend has been postponed. It's one of three SEC games that's already been postponed by Tuesday afternoon, and there's some thought that Missouri and Georgia could also be in peril by the end of the week.

Last week in college football, there were 10 postponements or cancellations. By Tuesday afternoon this week, there's already been five. With the virus at peaks all across the country, look for more COVID-19 postponements and cancellations as the week goes on.

College football's dance with COVID-19 has been an awkward one all season, but this is the most disruption we've seen at any point during the year. Don't expect that to change as the numbers spike around the country as this is going to be a slog to the finish of the 2020 college-football season.
