California lawmakers clash over Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence visit to state Capitol

Pride Month in California is kicking off with a clash between some Republican state lawmakers and Democrats over an expected guest at the State capitol's Pride Month celebration next week. Each year in June, lawmakers in the Assembly and Senate honor members of the LGBTQ community from across California. This year, one of those being honored is Sister Roma, a member of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a group of Queer and Trans people known as the Nuns of Drag.
