- In her fourth Olympic appearance, American, Brittney Reese defied gravity in Tokyo, taking home a silver medal in the long jump. Germany's Malaika Mihambo topped Reece for the gold.

What a career it's been for Brittney "The beast" Reese, with 13 national titles, seven world championships, and an Olympic haul of one gold and two silver medals. It's been a long road for the 34-year-old, who as one of the best long jumpers in history, said the Tokyo Olympics would be her last.

Reese's protege, 21-year-old Tara Davis finished sixth in Tokyo. The Texas Longhorn has been riding a roller coaster that sent her into a downward spiral with depression during the dog days of COVID in 2020. But then, took her to new heights in 2021, breaking Jackie Joyner's 36-year-old collegiate outdoor record, and winning indoor and outdoor long-jump NCAA championships.

We won't need to wait until World championships or Pairs 2024 to hear from Davis, though. Because she and her boyfriend, paralympic track star, Hunter Woodhall are social media influencers with a massive following.

- Hi, everyone. So I'm getting so bad at it. Can you help me out?

- Hey guys, welcome back to our channel. I'm Tara. This is Hunter.

- Despite Reece's impending retirement, Team USA long jump is in great hands with Davis for the foreseeable future.
