Bloodhound Puppy Begins K9 Traning with California Sheriff's Department

A 15-week-old bloodhound puppy joined the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office as their newest K9 trainee, the office announced on Wednesday, May 24.

The puppy, named Leia, will train for a year before she is able to join her handler Deputy Topping on duty, the sheriff’s office said. Once she is fully trained, her job will be to assist Deputy Topping in searching for at-risk missing people, they said.
