Bela and Martha Karolyi have coached the women’s USA Gymnastics team to dozens of Olympic medals but their legacy has recently been tainted in light of the Larry Nassar case. Multiple gymnasts say they were sexually abused by Nassar at the Karolyi’s training facility in Texas. But Friday morning on TODAY, Martha Karolyi told Savannah Guthrie that they were totally in the dark about the alleged abuse: "I heard during the testimonies that some of the parents were in the therapy room with their own child and Larry Nassar was performing this — and the parent couldn't see. How could I see?"
