LIZ LOZA: From a fantasy perspective, what can we expect out of Terry McLaurin as he enters his third season in the league? Well, the short answer, I think, is about six catches and 85 yards per game, probably 8 to 10 touchdowns over a 17 game season. But how I got there was by taking a look at the quarterback position. Now in 2020, McLaurin averaged 88 air yards per contest, and that was with a collection of options under center. With Alex Smith exclusively down the stretch, he averaged 72 air yards per contest. Now we know that Alex Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick have totally antithetical skill sets, and Fitzpatrick, who by the way, has been more magic than fizzle-- here's a fun fact, over his last four seasons, he has been a top 10 fantasy contributor in over 50% of his appearances. He's also coming off of a season in which he averaged a YPA of 7.8, which was QB9 for that statistical category. So I think when you combine Fitzpatrick's yolo style of play and McLaurin's size, speed, and technique, you have yourself a top 10 wide receiver.
