18-year-old killed in shooting near North Highlands, Sacramento Co. Sheriff’s Office says

An 18-year-old is dead after a shooting in the North Highlands area of Sacramento County late Wednesday night, according to the sheriff’s office. Officials said three people were sitting in a car in that area when another car approached and shot at their vehicle. An 18-year-old inside that first vehicle was struck, and the driver of the vehicle was able to make their way into the intersection of Grand Avenue and Marysville Boulevard. The victims then waved down a Twin Rivers police officer, and the teen was taken to a nearby hospital. The 18-year-old later died from his injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
