13 California mayors want more state funding to address homelessness

The mayors of California's 13 largest cities gathered at the state Capitol on Wednesday, urging state lawmakers and the governor to provide local governments with a stable source of funding for them to address housing and homelessness. The request comes days after Gov. Gavin Newsom announced he and the Legislature will need to tighten spending as a result of an estimated $31.5 billion budget shortfall.
