Nike SB Chronicles Vol. 1 Releasing Dec. 3rd, 2011

The Nike SB Chronicles Vol. 1 trailer was released this week with a promise of more incredible skating to come. I scoped out the trailer myself and you should too. Here are a few more details about the upcoming premier and who stars in the video:

About the Premier

The Nike SB Chronicles Vol. 1 was created by Jason Hernandez and stars eight talented skaters. It is set to premier online December 3, 2011, at 7 p.m. Skate fans that go to Nike SB's facebook page can sign up to be among the first to watch it.

About the Skaters

From the trailer, the skate video looks promising. Then again, any skate video featuring Georgia grown skater Grant Taylor can't be anything but. The 20 year old Hot-lanta native has been really ripping it up this year. He took 4th at the Copenhagen Pro Street Finals and 9th at the bowl jam in June. He's also filled his share of skate magazines landing in Skateboarder, Skateboard, TransWorld and Thrasher more than once since January. In my opinion, Taylor's scenes in the Nike SB Chronicles Vol. 1 trailer seem to capture his high energy and make me want to see more. Of course Taylor isn't the only talented skater making an appearance in the trailer.

Chet Childress and Stefan Janoski also show up on the scene. I loved the shot of Childress circling the bowl with the dog making a run for his skateboard. The flannel shirt and beard he's sporting, along with the hatchet, makes him look like a cross between Grizzly Adams and Paul Bunyan. All that's missing is the bear. The burly skater turns 37 years old on November 29th.

Another pro burning up the trailer is Daniel Shimizu. Long time skate fans may recall that Shimizu use to ride for The Stereo Sound Agency. He and the agency ended their business relationship in the fall of 2008. Say what you want about Shimizu's funky vibe and light competitive history, he can still rock out a board. The skate video has a bit of international flavor as well. 29 year old Amsterdam native Wieger Van Wageningen and Aussie Lewis Marnell each have a role. Amateur skaters Youness Amrani and Clark Hassler are front and center too. Looks like I know what I will be doing at 7 p.m. on December 3rd. The question is, do you?

My children are skateboarders and I have a history of following the sport.
