Caroline Wozniacki is getting a new look for the Australian Open. The world No. 1 will be wearing a new, Stella McCartney-designed ballerina dress at the first Grand Slam of the year, part of an offseason makeover for the 20-year-old Dane.
Photographer: "All right Caroline, now give me the 'I'm washing my hair' pose. [Snaps pictures.] Yes, yes, that's it. [Snaps more pictures.] Rinse and repeat. [Snaps even more pictures.]

Ridiculous poses notwithstanding, I liked the dress upon first glance. The white and pink are softer and more feminine than the gray armadillo dress that made Wozniacki look like the female Terminator at the U.S. Open.
But then I looked again and saw the ridiculous waistline, which is jacked up Urkel-style and appears to be inspired by the edge of a birthday cake. (McCartney says she wanted the waistline to "redefine and challenge traditional sports silhouettes.") And then there's the pleating and the blood orange wrist bands. It's not bad, per se, but it's not exactly flattering either.
Still, anything is an improvement over this.
