Milan get their 2022/23 campaign off to a winning start, beating Udinese 4-2 at San Siro. The Friulians took an early lead after Deulofeu's inswinging corner was met by the head of Becao, but they were not ahead for long. A penalty from Hernandez and a cool finish from Rebic gave the hosts a deserved lead, but they were pegged back by a late first half header from debutant Masina. However, Udinese did not build on their goal and were dominated in the second half. Strikes from Diaz and Rebic gave last season's Serie A winners a deserved victory, with the away side failing to seriously trouble Maignan in the Milan net.
