A 3-1 victory over Wolves was not enough for the Reds.
Despite their Premier League fate being in their own hands on the final day, Burnley weren't able to beat Newcastle United on Sunday, and will now play Championship football next season. Callum Wilson was the villain for Mike Jackson's side at Turf Moor, with the striker scoring either side of half time to give Newcastle a 2-0 lead. Maxwel Cornet gave Burnley hope with a goal in the 69th minute, but they were unable to capitalise on the goal and get any points from the game.
The Gunners thrashed Everton 5-1 on the final day of the season but Arteta regrets the costly defeat against Newcastle.
