There was something different about the 2017 Emmys. The glitz and glamour (and In-N-Out) were still there, sure, but there were also a striking number of family members, mostly kids, on the arms of celebs.

Reese Witherspoon, Liev Schreiber, Sofia Vergara, and more made the evening a true family affair.

Reese Witherspoon and daughter Ava, Laura Dern and kids Jaya and Ellery

Ava Phillippe has been with her mom, Reese, on the red carpet several times lately, and she was by her side again to celebrate Reese’s series, Big Little Lies, and its impressive five wins on Sunday. At the after-party the two spent some time with Reese’s co-star on the show Laura Dern, who brought along daughter Ellery, 12, and 16-year-old son Jaya, whom she shares with ex Ben Harper. Sofia Vergara and son Manolo

With husband Joe Manganiello out of town, Vergara took her other favorite date to the Emmys: son Manolo, 26. “Always glad to be her Plan B when Joe is busy making movies,” Manolo shared on social media, along with his hopes of meeting Feud star Jessica Lange. In the end, Manolo didn’t meet Lange, but he seemed excited about meeting the cast of 9 to 5! (Photo: Gregg DeGuire/Getty Images)

Rico Rodriguez and sister Raini

Vergara wasn’t the only one in the Modern Family cast with a family member by her side. Rodriguez, who plays Vergara’s son on the sitcom, showed up with his older sister, Raini, 24. See, kids, little brothers aren’t always a pain! (Photo: Rich Polk/Getty Images for IMDb)

Robin Wright and daughter Dylan

Wow, the House of Cards nominee and her model daughter, 26-year-old Dylan Penn, stunned in black gowns. Don’t you think they look just as much alike as Reese and Ava? (Photo: Steve Granitz/WireImage)

Liev Schreiber and son Kai

Even though the Ray Donovan star lost to Sterling K. Brown of This Is Us for Best Actor in a Drama, Liev Schreiber still had a night to remember with his 8-year-old, Kai, the younger of two sons he shares with Naomi Watts. Liev posted pics of Kai being prepped by a glam squad, riding to the show in a limo, and — most important — getting hugged by Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown. “Shut the front door!!! We can go home now,” Liev joked. Kai will be so embarrassed one day soon. (Photo: Todd Williamson/Getty Images)

Giancarlo Esposito and daughter Shayne

Better Call Saul‘s Esposito and his date for the night, daughter Shayne, struck a different pose than everyone else on the red carpet. (How many photos do we need of people standing side by side?) They literally had each other’s backs. (Photo: Steve Granitz/WireImage)

Matthew Modine and daughter Ruby

The Stranger Things actor and his daughter, 27-year-old Shameless actress Ruby, made sure to snap a photo together. This is definitely one for the family album. (Photo: John Shearer/WireImage)
