Despite an official ban on Russia participating in the 2018 Winter Olympics, Russian athletes have turned out in force in PyeongChang, competing under the neutral banner of Olympic Athletes from Russia. The OAR curling teams have made an impact in the Games, not just for the bronze medal won by Anastasia Bryzgalova and Aleksandr Krushelnitckii in mixed doubles, but for the unusually high number of photogenic athletes that have competed in the curling competition under the OAR banner.
