Little known facts about indelible voting ink

The indelible ink that is used in Indian elections is soon to be replaced by semi-permanent marker pens. The first ever use of marker pens, supplied from Mysore, is expected during the July 17 presidential election this year, according to a recent report. However, a formal announcement to this end is yet to be made.

Upon the arrival of the marker pens, the age-old practice of marking fingers with a stick will cease to exist. Here are the 10 little known facts about voting ink.
