How Kate and Pippa Middleton Dress for Weddings

On Saturday, Pippa Middleton will marry James Matthews at a quaint church in the English countryside. While the designer of the bride’s wedding gown has yet to be revealed — rumors are swirling though that she might glide down the aisle in a custom gown by Giles Deacon — taking a look at what she’s worn to past weddings might reveal some hints.

The same sleuthing can apply to her sister. The Duchess of Cambridge won’t be wearing a bridesmaids dress, but she might be outfitted in similar styles to the ones she’s she’s worn to other events. Perhaps a coat dress teamed with a fascinator? Or a shift dress paired with a statement hat?

Over the years, the siblings have attended numerous high-profile nuptials, providing plenty of what-to-wear-to-a-wedding inspiration: from the perfect heel height, to the ideal hat size to the best hem length. So, whether you’re set to attend a spring, summer, autumn or winter wedding, look to the Middleton sisters for the ideal ensemble.

Back in 2011, when Zara Tindall, then Phillips, wed Mike Tindall, almost the entire royal family attended. For the occasion, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a pale gold, embroidered coat dress from DAY Birger et Mikkelsen that she’d had in her wardrobe for a few years. In 2006, she was photographed wearing it to the wedding of Laura Parker Bowles and Harry Lopes. The Duchess’ statement hat came from Gina Foster Millinery. (Photo: PA)
