'Holy grail for urban explorers': Abandoned airport frozen in time

The “Holy Grail for urban explorers” has been captured on film documenting the inside of the time-capsule abandoned airport, frozen in time at the year 1974. Due to its very high security and regular patrols, very few people make it inside Nicosia Airport, near Lakatamia in Cyprus, Greece, according to YouTube team Exploring the Unbeaten Path. The small site allowed predominantly wealthier individuals to leave the country, until it was bombed and left to decay in 1974 following Turkish invasion. For the last 44 years, the airport has slowly decomposed. (Caters News)
