Epic crashes and wipeouts at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics

Yahoo Sports

With the high-speed nature of many Winter Olympic sports, on-course crashes can be dangerous. Or even deadly, as in the case of Nodar Kumaritashvili, the Georgian luger who suffered a fatal crash during a training run at the 2010 Winter Games.

Thankfully, most Olympic wipeouts are far less serious. However, in the high-intensity world of the Winter Games, which come along only once every four years, nothing will derail an athlete’s chances of a place on the podium faster than a crash. Here is a look at some of the more epic crashes and wipeouts we’ve seen at the PyeongChang Winter Games so far.
