The longtime Senators captain played in Ottawa for the first time as a member of the visiting Detroit Red Wings. A video tribute was played and he received a standing ovation from the crowd before puck drop.

Alfredsson scored an empty-net goal and added an assist in a 4-2 Detroit win.
