TORONTO — The WNBA is expanding to Toronto, but Larry Tanenbaum says the new team will belong to all of Canada. Tanenbaum's Kilmer Sports Ventures confirmed Thursday it has been awarded a franchise in the professional women's basketball league. Toronto has been awarded the WNBA’s first franchise outside the United States, with the expansion team set to begin play in 2026.
