Zion Williamson will make his long-awaited NBA debut for Pelicans on Jan. 22

The time has finally come for Zion Williamson to make his NBA debut.

The New Orleans Pelicans announced on Wednesday that Williamson will make his first-ever professional start against the San Antonio Spurs on Jan. 22.

Williamson, who was the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft, has been sidelined since the beginning of the season as he recovered from surgery to repair his meniscus.

The Pelicans will play the Spurs at home on Jan. 22, so Williamson will get to make his first NBA start at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans in front of euphoric hometown fans who have been waiting months to see him play. That’s a game that no one will want to miss.
