Zendaya Says Goodbye to Dune Style, Hello to Tenniscore in a Plunging V-Neck Sweater and Shorts

James Devaney

Say goodbye to Zendaya's Dune style and hello to her Challengers era.

On March 15, Zendaya's longtime creative partner and stylist Law Roach shared a behind-the-scenes look at a shoot for her upcoming tennis love-triangle drama, Challengers. In the Instagram photo, Law crouches next to Z, who is wearing a full Louis Vuitton look: a pale yellow plunging V-neck sweater with white shorts and matching pumps.

Let the games begin,” indeed.

This tenniscore look comes after a whirlwind Dune press tour, in which the pair served a series of incredible sci-fi-inspired archival looks, including that see-through Mugler robot suit from 1993. Now she's trading in her unexpected hip cutouts for a cutout sweater that would easily win her best dressed at Wimbledon. If there's one thing Zendaya and Roach love to do, it's commit to a theme.

In Challengers, Zendaya stars as a tennis player turned coach who reunites with her ex-boyfriend Patrick (Josh O’Connor) when he faces off against her husband Art (Mike Faist) in a Challenger tournament after a big losing streak. Oh, Patrick and Art used to be best friends too.

Zendaya appeared to bid farewell to Dune with an Instagram post on March 4. “Being in this film is such an honor,” she wrote alongside a behind-the-scenes pic from the set. “I just wanted to come on here to express my deep gratitude, to Denis for not just his talent but his kindness, to everyone who’s heart went into making it and to everyone who’s taken their time to see it♥️.”

Challengers hits theaters on April 26. Honestly, Zendaya's next batch of red-carpet appearances can't come soon enough.
