Zbigniew Boniek denies rumors of Roma contacting him over CEO position
Zbigniew Boniek did not confirm the recent rumors linking him with a return to the capital club as CEO.
According to some rumors reported by the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita and reported in Italy by Gazzetta dello Sport, Zbigniew Boniek – former Roma player and longtime UEFA director – seemed to be among the possible candidates to take on an executive role at Roma, following the resignation of Lina Souloukou.
The former footballer, however, immediately wanted to clarify the situation, denying the news.
On Twitter, Boniek commented the news, “It’s the first time I’ve heard of t…his”.
A denial which, at least for now, seems to remove the hypothesis of his involvement in the club’s project under the Friedkin ownership.
