Yahoo Sports Yellowjackets and The Boys stars cast in Cruel Intentions series
Amazon's Cruel Intentions has found its cast. As reported by Variety, the TV series adaptation of the cult classic teen film from 1999 will tell a new story with new characters, although one of the original cast members is returning (albeit in a new role).
The series will star Yellowjackets' Khobe Clarke as Scott, You's Brooke Lena Johnson as Beatrice, The Boys' Sara Silva as CeCe, American Crime Story's Sarah Catherine Hook as Caroline, Totally Completely Fine's Zac Burgess as Lucien, 9-1-1's John Harlan Kim as Blaise, He's All That's Myra Molloy as Annie, and the original film's Sean Patrick Thomas as Professor Chadwick.

In terms of recurring guest roles, we've got Nashville's Laura Benanti as Caroline's mother Claudia, and Major Crimes' Jon Tenney as US Congressman Russell.
The show's synopsis states that the series will follow "two ruthless step siblings who would go to great lengths to stay on top of the social pyramid.
"In this case, their focus is the Greek life hierarchy at an elite Washington, DC college. After a brutal hazing incident threatens the entire Panhellenic system, they'll do anything to preserve their power and reputations, even attempt to seduce the daughter of the Vice President of the United States."

Neal H Moritz, who produced the original, alongside I Know What You Did Last Summer and the Fast & Furious franchise, will return to produce the series. He previously tried to revive Cruel Intentions with a 2016 pilot for NBC that saw Sarah Michelle Gellar return.
Production is set to begin in Toronto later this month, with the show intended for either Amazon's Prime Video service or its newer Freevee streaming platform.
Cruel Intentions is yet to receive a release window.
