Coroner identifies Boise woman fatally struck by vehicle. Police arrested driver

The Ada County coroner on Tuesday identified the woman who was hit and killed by a vehicle in Boise on Friday night — intentionally, according to police.

Elizabeth Sorg, 37, of Boise, was hit at around 9:15 p.m. Friday on W. Poplar Street and pronounced dead at the hospital emergency room, according to a news release. She died of blunt force injuries, the coroner’s office said in a news release.

Police arrested a 23-year-old Boise man after they said he intentionally hit two people with his car, one of them being Sorg. The other person was injured, according to a Boise Police Department news release.

Police said there was an altercation between the suspect, Marion Nikichimus, and some individuals Friday. Police said Nikichimus intentionally drove into the victims.

Officers arrested Nikichimus near the scene on suspicion of second-degree murder and aggravated battery. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
