Canadian Olympic gold medallist Jill Officer had a park in Winnipeg renamed after her today.

Despite the windy, wet weather, people gathered Saturday to celebrate the former River East Park renaming to Jill Officer Park.

Officer played on the gold-medal winning curling team representing Canada in Sochi this past winter.

Officer grew up in the area, attending River East Collegiate, next to the park where she now brings her young daughter to play.
