It’s been a busy day for the Williams sisters at Wimbledon.

Hours after Serena and Venus finished their semifinal matches in singles play Thursday, the sister duo took to the All England Club for some doubles action.

In the quarterfinal round, the five-time Wimbledon doubles champions took down Elina Vesnina, whom Serena had beaten earlier in the afternoon in singles, and Ekaterina Makarova 7-6(1), 4-6, 6-2.

The Williams’ level dropped a bit in the second set, as the effects of the long day of tennis began to show on 34-year-old Serena and 36-year-old Venus. But, in the third set, the sisters found their groove again, breaking Vesnina and Makarova at 3-2 and then finishing out the set.

Serena and Venus have been playing doubles in preparation for the upcoming Olympic games, which they will enter as the two-time defending champions.

Next up, the Williams will play Julia Goerges and Karolina Pliskova Friday in the semifinal round. Serena will then play in her ninth Wimbledon final on Saturday.
