Why isn't Everton vs Chelsea Premier League game on TV in UK today?

Chelsea travel to Everton later today as they bid to get their Premier League season back up and running.

For Mauricio Pochettino, it has been a case of one step forward and two steps back during his opening few games in charge.

The capitulation away at Newcastle was followed by a win over Brighton, which in turn preceded a defeat away at a Manchester United in crisis.

The Blues have lost their last two away games after a run of three straight victories on the road and head to an in-form Everton side.

Sean Dyche’s side thrashed Newcastle on Thursday and would even be ahead of Chelsea in the table were it not for their ten-point deduction.

In the UK, however, fans will not be able to watch the game live on TV. Everton’s game with Newcastle was pushed back from Tuesday 5 December to Thursday 7 December, meaning their meeting with Chelsea – originally at 3pm GMT on Saturday 9 December – was rescheduled.

As it was supposed to have taken place during the 3pm blackout imposed across English football, it cannot be shown in the UK.
