WHL Roundup: Broncos beat Raiders 5-2 for first win of season

REGINA — Carter Stebbings had a pair of goals as the Swift Current Broncos downed the Prince Albert Raiders 5-2 on Monday for their first win of the Western Hockey League season.

Reid Dyck stopped 28-of-30 shots to help Swift Current halt its five-game losing streak to open the campaign.

Raphael Pelletier, Caleb Wyrostok and Devin Aubin also scored for the Broncos (1-5-0). Cole Nagy and Matthew Ward each tacked on two assists.

Ozzy Wieslblatt and Justin Nackbaur supplied the goals for the Raiders (2-2-2), who are on a three-game slide.

Max Paddock turned away 23-of-28 shots for Prince Albert.



REGINA — Kyle Crnkovic had two goals and an assist, and Saskatoon (5-0-1) used a four-goal first period to beat Brandon (3-2-1) and extend its point streak to six games to open the season.
