Where was Netflix's 'The Gentlemen' filmed? Here are the locations in the Guy Ritchie series
  • Netflix's "The Gentlemen" is a spin-off from the 2019 movie of the same name.

  • The show follows an aristocrat who discovers a marijuana farm underneath his family's estate.

  • Here's where the Guy Ritchie series was filmed.

"The Gentlemen" revolves around Eddie Horniman, played by Theo James, a young aristocrat who inherits his family's estate after his father dies, only to discover a criminal organization has built a large marijuana farm underneath the property.

The Netflix series takes place in the same world as the Guy Ritchie movie of the same name, which starred Matthew McConaughey as the drug baron Mickey Pearson. Though the show has a few references to the film, it tells its own story through Horniman's eyes.

Much of the series takes place in and around Halstead Manor as the drug dealer Susie Glass, played by Kaya Scodelario, and her gang run the weed operation underneath the property on the outskirts of the grounds. The scenes inside the drug farm were shot on stage sets at Alperton Studios in London.

Though Halstead is a fictional location created for the series, Netflix used an estate in Gloucestershire, England, to double as Horniman's luxurious home. According to the show's production notes, Badminton House was used for some of the interior and exterior shots of Halstead Manor.

Badminton House is currently home to Henry Somerset, the 12th Duke of Beaufort. In the production notes, Iggy Ellis, a location manager, said they chose the estate because it felt lived in, which added authenticity to Halstead Manor in the series.

"So inside there'd be some walking sticks by the door or a few shotgun rounds from where they'd been out shooting. There were cracks and tired bits as you'd get in every family home. But there was also oil painting and history and majesty. It felt perfect for our story," he said.

Loseley Park in Guildford also doubled for some of the interiors of Halstead Manor, and the show used its grounds to depict Halstead Manor's woodland. And yes, that includes the cozy cottage where the gamekeeper, Geoff Seacombe, played by Vinnie Jones, lives with his family of rescue animals.

In the first episode, Horniman and Glass also take a trip to an underground boxing match to confront Sticky Pete, played by Joshua McGuire, over the bad betting advice he's given Freddy Horniman, played by Daniel Ings.

Anyone who's been out for a night in London may recognize the unique venue where the match takes place: Printworks London.

The industrial building was a nightclub before it was shut down in 2023.

Fans of Matt Reeves' "The Batman" might also recognize the building because it was used for scenes in the Iceberg Lounge, a club owned by the Penguin, played by Colin Farrell.

The series also introduces Stanley Johnston, played by Giancarlo Esposito, a wealthy billionaire interested in buying Halstead Manor because of the leafy green secret hidden under the grounds.

But the mysterious Johnston also has an estate of his own, Bridgewater House.

While Stanley attempts to convince Horniman to sell the house, he invites the young Duke to a black-tie party at his home. These scenes were shot at Wrotham Park in Hertfordshire.

Interestingly, the sprawling estate was also used in the 2019 movie as the home of Lord Pressfield. There was a secret weed farm on his grounds, too — so perhaps Johnston snapped it up after the events of the film.
