West Ham vs Leicester City: Premier League prediction, team line-ups and where to watch on TV and online

David Moyes takes charge of his first West Ham home game as Leicester City visit the London Stadium tonight.

The Hammers fell to a 2-0 defeat at Watford in Moyes’ bow as boss and is expected to be without summer addition Javier Hernandez again for the visit of the Foxes.

Leicester have won one, drawn one and lost one since Claude Puel’s appointment but can guide his team into the top half with a convincing victory.

The Hammers, meanwhile, are without a win since September and could be leapfrogged by 19th-placed Swansea should results go against them this weekend.

Team news

Andre Ayew and Marko Arnautovic have been passed fit for West Ham’s home game with Leicester.

Ayew has recovered from the illness which sidelined him at Watford last weekend and Arnautovic is available after going off with a thumb injury.

But Javier Hernandez is still out with a hamstring problem, and although James Collins and Michail Antonio are back in training they are short of match fitness.

Expert view

From Danny Murphy

I really felt for David Moyes in his first game as manager at Watford last weekend.

It was not a great West Ham performance, but some of the chances they missed were criminal.

They had enough chances to not lose that game. I think even I could have scored some of them — and that is saying a lot!

I felt West Ham lost their legs and they got overrun in the last 25 minutes of the game. Watford looked fitter and stronger and West Ham looked leggy.

That could either be because they were not fit enough in the first place or Moyes (left) is trying to get them fitter as quickly as possible.

The problem with doing that mid-season is it can have a negative effect on a match day.

But long term it will benefit them if they are fitter, because of what happened in the closing stages last weekend.

Predicted line-ups

West Ham starting XI: Hart; Zabaleta, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Kouyate, Noble, Obiang; Lanzini, Ayew, Carroll

Leicester starting XI: Schmeichel; Simpson, Morgan, Maguire, Fuchs; Mahrez, Ndidi, Iborra, Gray; Okazaki, Vardy
