Back in 1999, you couldn’t find a better show in the city of Toronto than Vince Carter at the Air Canada Centre.

The man affectionately known as “Half-Man Half-Amazing” had quickly earned some of the best nicknames in the history of the NBA. Once the world had gotten a taste of Carter’s jaw-dropping dunks, basketball fans from all over would flock to Toronto just to bear witness to the “Vinsanity.”

Sure, he was just one player on a Raptors team that brought NBA basketball to Canada a few years prior, but Carter had instantly become the star of the show. He’s nearly single-handedly responsible for an explosion of basketball talent that emerged from north of the border in recent years.

Carter’s incredible influence on the country and the sport is the focus of a new documentary called “The Carter Effect,” which will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Earlier this week, Uninterrupted released a teaser which features former NBA greats such as Steve Nash, Charles Oakley and Tracy McGrady, along with Drake, Tristan Thompson, Jalen Rose, Cory Joseph and Raptors superfan Nav Bhatia.
