Watch Raiders punter pick up penalty flag, do dance with it, get flagged himself (Video)

Roger Goodell has his eye on Marquette King. How could he not? The commish has to at this point. After all, any player — and a punter, no less! — who has as much fun on a football field as King does is subject to a No Fun League investigation.

Check out the Oakland Raiders’ flamboyant punter and his latest act. The Buffalo Bills were called for roughing the kicker for contacting King’s plant leg. After the play, King then picked up the flag that was thrown and waved it in the air like he just didn’t care.

This is the man who has earned some attention this season for his exceptional dancing and also his remarkably surprising wheels. It has been a blessed season for the Raiders, and King is one of their pied pipers. Cherish this man, NFL, don’t fine him.

Yes, of course, the refs have to flag the guy. Luckily for King, the foul was not ruled as taunting because the flag dance was not directed toward a Bills player. Basically, it was just an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty served for all of us to enjoy — well worth the 15 yards in our eyes. (Of course, we’re not Jack Del Rio.)

After the game, via Twitter, King had some more fun at the Bills’ expense:

The dance occurred between plays, so it was not offsetting with the roughing call. And had it been taunting, King could have been ejected for a second penalty of that kind.

But, y’all, think about it: The fact that we’re talking about a punter potentially earning any kind of flag such as this becomes something of a hero in our book. Does anyone know what kind of dance this is? Whatever it was, it was special. This act deserves a residency at one of the major casinos once the team relocates to Vegas next year.

You can have your Ray Guy. In our eyes, King might be the greatest punter to ever live. His outsized personality is matched only by his monster leg, and these flag-happy Raiders have just been a joy to watch this season. Dance on, punting dude, dance on … even if Goodell might try to ban you.
