Watch: Odell Beckham Jr. 'moons' Randy Moss in tribute

In the NFL, one generation’s disgusting act is another generation’s classic rock.

Prior to Monday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. swung by the ESPN booth to pay a little tribute to Randy Moss. Beckham and Moss have a lot in common: otherwordly talent combined with an attitude that strikes fear and rage in a certain segment of the NFL fanbase. Oh, and they share a fondness for graphic celebrations, too, as Beckham demonstrated:

Yes, that’s Beckham doing a cover version of Moss’s infamous “moon” celebration. Way back in 2005, Moss, then a member of the Vikings, mooned the Lambeau Field crowd during a playoff game. At the time, announcer Joe Buck deemed it a “disgusting act,” and the NFL establishment clutched its pearls hard enough to crush them to powder. Now? In an era where Isiah Crowell wiped the football on his butt — and, hell, where Beckham himself once lifted his leg like a dog relieving himself — well, Moss’s own celebration seems downright quaint.

“It’s not like I pulled my pants down or anything like that,” Moss said earlier this summer, just prior to his induction in the Hall of Fame. “If I had to do it all over, I wouldn’t change it.” And now, we’ll have to see if Beckham decides to up the ante during a game.
