NASCAR drivers take an immense amount of risk every time they get behind the wheel. Often overlooked, however, is the perilous nature of the job performed by pit crew members.
During the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Texas Motor Speedway last Sunday, driver Chris Buescher headed in for a pit stop but was struck by the No. 77 car of Erik Jones, which sent Buesher’s car spinning into his team’s pit stall. The crash put the No. 37 car on a collision course with jackman Zack Young, who was hit and sent flying back—but appears to be alright.
Young recently posted a video of the incident which was captured from a crew member’s helmet camera:

Terrifying, to say the least, but Young luckily escaped the crash with nothing but some bruises and a “torn up” hand and thumb.
