But it was a 31-year-old forward from Croatia who stole the spotlight early at the National Stadium of Wales in Cardiff.

In the 27th minute, Mario Mandzukic of Juventus tied the game at 1-1 with one of the greatest goals in Champions League final history.

The former Bayern Munich star controlled the ball by letting it hit his chest and then, with three Real Madrid defenders around him, successfully pulled off the acrobatic overhead strike with his right boot.

Not surprisingly, the goal got quite the reaction on Twitter.
