It took longer than fans and No. 68 himself probably expected, but Jaromir Jagr finally potted his first goal as a member of the Calgary Flames on Thursday night in a 6-3 victory against the Detroit Red Wings.
Jagr, along with his glorious grey beard and copiously curly locks, joined a streaking Johnny Gaudreau on a 2-on-1 and promptly deposited a gorgeous feed over the shoulder of Petr Mrazek to net his first goal in his sixth game with the club.
It was the 766th career goal for the NHL’s third-highest all-time scorer. Jagr has now tallied a goal with nine different NHL teams — almost a third of the league.
