Watch: Gudas gets ejected after lumberjack chop on Perreault
Things got a little choppy between the Philadelphia Flyers and Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.
As the clubs battled through a corner scrum in the first period, Jets forward Mathieu Perreault connected with a high stick to the bucket of Flyers blueliner Radko Gudas, who promptly responded by delivering a slew-foot and chopping Perreault directly to the back of his melon.

Each were penalized, with Perreault receiving a minor high sticking penalty while Gudas’ act earned him a five-minute slashing major and a game misconduct.
Gudas has a history of skirting the line between aggressive and egregious and has been part of numerous disciplinary hearings with the league for questionable actions on the ice — often slipping his way out of punishment. Most recently, he was suspended for six games for a nasty interference incident against Boston Bruins forward Austin Czarnik in October of 2016.
