WATCH: Eagles beat Giants in overtime to share NFC East lead

The Philadelphia Eagles needed overtime to beat divisional rivals New York Giants 23-17 on Monday Night Football.

The win gives the Eagles a 6-7 record and a share of the lead in the NFC East.

The Giants scored all 17 of their points in the second quarter, after neither side managed to score a single point in the first quarter of the game.

Veteran quarterback Eli Manning was recalled to the Giants side and threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns in that second quarter, but failed to maintain that performance for the rest of the game.

After the two sides traded five consecutive punts at the beginning of the second half, the Eagles finally got their act together and scored a touchdown through running back Boston Scott. New York nearly held onto the win, but conceded a 14-play, 85-yard drive that was finished by Zach Ertz.

The tight end then scored again in overtime to secure a much-needed victory for Philadelphia.

Incredibly, despite their record, the Eagles are still in the hunt for a play-off place thanks to the poor season from all the NFC East teams. Their record is the same as the Dallas Cowboys, while the Giants sit rock bottom on 2-11.
