WATCH: Bears QB Caleb makes jaw-dropping plays vs. Bills
The Chicago Bears are off to a decent start in the preseason and Saturday is the debut of rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, who everybody wants to see in action against the Buffalo Bills.
The team gave Williams plenty of weapons to work with in his first season, including running back D'Andre Swift. Having a strong running game is going to be paramount this year as they try to take this team to the next level offensively. It will make Caleb Williams' life so much better if the ground attack works well.
Early in their preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, Swift made a big impact. Feeling the pressure from the Bills defensive line, Williams made an improv play to find Swift, who went for 42 yards on the reception. The gain led to a field goal from Cairo Santos.
It was a brilliant heads-up play when it looked like the pocked was collapsing. It was a perfect example of a good back helping his young QB and more of that should be coming in 2024.

Williams wasn't done making big plays, though. The rookie used another one of his important weapons to keep the chains moving. Williams hit Cole Kmet on the run, leaving his feet to make a special throw for a first down. This was another improv move by Williams to find one of his teammates for a gain of 26 yards. That play also led to a field goal from Santos.

On plays like these, you see why Caleb Williams has the hype that he does. He can turn something into nothing and the hope is eventually it becomes a regular thing for this offense.
