WATCH: Aaron Gordon throws down Dunk Contest-quality 360 vs. 76ers

The Orlando Magic have opened the 2016-17 NBA season 0-3, but forward Aaron Gordon isn’t discouraged, telling reporters this week that he believes once the Magic get used to playing together, “We’re going to be rolling.” The super-athletic young forward wasted little time in getting himself on a roll on Tuesday night, taking advantage of an opportunity afforded by napping Sixers center Richaun Holmes to give the crowd at Wells Fargo Center a non-Joel “The Process” Embiid-related reason to ooh and aah:

Sure, we could wait until All-Star Weekend to see gravity-defying slams like this 360-degree two-handed thunder. But February’s so far away! It’s very kind of the 21-year-old skywalker to be so considerate and hook us up rather than making us wait to be happy by making the rim miserable, and doing so with plenty of style and panache in the process.

Now, all he has to do is decide he’s down for for a second straight Slam Dunk Contest — and hopefully a rematch with Zach LaVine of the best mano a mano competition we’ve seen on an All-Star Saturday Night in years — and we’ll love him forever … even if we don’t necessarily love what his Magic are offering on a nightly basis thus far in the young campaign.
