Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students and teachers gathered in Washington, D.C., on Friday to prepare for Saturday’s March For Our Lives Rally. The rally’s purpose is to demand that the safety of students become a priority by compelling federal and local governments to take the necessary steps to end gun violence and mass shootings in schools. In a show of support, the Washington Wizards hosted these students at their practice.

In the month since the Feb. 14 shooting at Stoneman Douglas left 17 dead, these survivors have been the catalysts for gun reform protests around the nation. They’ve also been supported by athletes such as Florida Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo and Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade. Saturday’s march is expected to begin at noon in the district and is part of connected rallies in various cities around the nation.
